The head of Tatarstan called the AFU drone attack in Kazan an attack on civilians

The head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said on Saturday, December 21, that this morning's Ukrainian drone attack in Kazan was an attack on civilians.
"Today Kazan has been subjected to a mass attack by UAVs. If earlier the attacks were on industrial enterprises, now the enemy is attacking civilians in the morning right in their homes," he wrote in his Telegram channel.
Minnikhanov reminded that an operational headquarters is working on the site, and the residents have been evacuated. Temporary accommodation and hot meals have been organized for them. All forces have been deployed to eliminate the consequences of the attack, the head of the republic pointed out.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that air defense and REB forces destroyed and suppressed six drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) over the territory of Kazan from 7:40 to 9:20 Moscow time.
According to the press service of the head of the republic and the mayor's office, the strikes resulted in fires in houses in the Sovetsky and Kirovsky districts. Eight drone arrivals were recorded, including six attacks - on residential houses, no casualties were reported. Minnikhanov immediately arrived at the scene.
The arrival of UAVs in the residential complex "Azure Skies" was recorded on video. In addition, the source of "Izvestia" reported that the drone hit a house in the residential complex "Manhattan". In the city canceled all mass events, as well as temporarily limited the work of the airport of Kazan.
The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
