Rosaviatsia imposed temporary restrictions on Kazan airport operations

Temporary restrictions have been imposed on the operation of Kazan airport to ensure flight safety, Rosaviatsia spokesman Artem Korenyako said on Saturday, December 21.
"The air harbor temporarily does not accept or dispatch flights," he wrote in his Telegram channel.
He noted that aircraft crews, air traffic controllers and airport services are taking all necessary measures as a priority.
In connection with the events in Kazan, flights were also temporarily suspended at Izhevsk airport, Udmurtia's head Alexander Brechalov said in his Telegram channel.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that a drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) was destroyed over Tatarstan around 7:50 Moscow time. Later, the Kazan mayor's office specified that as a result of the strikes there was a fire in houses in the Sovetsky and Kirovsky districts.
The flight of the Ukrainian drone to the residential complex "Azure Skies" was recorded on video. In addition, the source of "Izvestiya" reported that the drone hit a house in the residential complex "Manhattan".
The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
