Two districts of Kazan recorded fire in residential buildings after an early morning drone attack. This is reported on Saturday, December 21, in the Telegram-channel of the mayor's office of the city.
"This morning in Kazan as a result of a drone attack there was a fire in houses in the Sovetsky and Kirovsky districts," - stated in the message.
Mayor Ilsur Metshin instructed to accommodate evacuated people, provide them with food and warm clothes. Local residents were asked to remain calm and avoid visiting the scene if possible.
The press service of the governor of Tatarstan informed Izvestia that Prime Minister of the Republic Alexei Pesoshin left for the "Azure Skies" housing estate in Kazan. Operational services also arrived there. The head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov also arrived to the site of the attack.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that a drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) was destroyed over Tatarstan around 7:50 Moscow time. Before that, during the night, air defense forces destroyed 19 Ukrainian drones. It was specified that nine drones were eliminated over the Belgorod region, five - over the Voronezh region, three - over the waters of the Black Sea and one each over the territories of the Kursk region and Krasnodar Krai.
