Air defense forces destroyed a Ukrainian UAV over Tatarstan

Air defense forces have destroyed a drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) over Tatarstan. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 21.

"The Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was destroyed over the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan by on-duty air defense means", - stated in the Telegram-channel.

It is specified that the downed UAVs were of the airplane type.

Earlier in the day, the Defense Ministry reported that overnight air defense forces destroyed 19 drones of the AFU. It was specified that nine drones were eliminated over Belgorod region, five - over the territory of Voronezh region, three - over the waters of the Black Sea and one destroyed each over the territories of Kursk region and Krasnodar region.

At the same time, the governor of the Voronezh region, Alexander Gusev, reported that the AFU UAVs were shot down in the suburbs of Voronezh and two districts of the region. According to him, there were no casualties or damage as a result of the attack of Ukrainian drones.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
