A magnitude 5.7 earthquake was recorded on the border of the Tyva Republic


An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 was recorded on the border of the Tyva Republic. This was reported on December 21 in the press service of the Main Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the region.
"On December 21 at 02:58 local time (December 20 22:58 Moscow time - Ed.) seismic event of magnitude 5.7 was registered 28 km southwest of the settlement Mugur-Aksy of Mongun-Taiga district. <...> There are no casualties and destruction", - specified in the message.
The agency noted that residents during the seismic event felt minor vibrations, the special services received calls of informational nature from the local population.
Earlier, on December 16, in Kamchatka recorded an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0. The epicenter was at a depth of 503 km in the waters of the Avacha Gulf 120 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. No tsunami threat was announced.
