Rescuers resume search for missing An-2 airplane in Kamchatka


In Kamchatka rescuers resumed the search for the missing An-2 airplane. This was reported on December 21 in the Main Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Kamchatka region.
"In the morning of December 21, a combined group of rescuers, including employees of the search and rescue unit of the Main Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in Kamchatka Krai, fire and rescue unit of the village of Klyuchi KGKU "CDC", as well as the search and rescue unit of KGKU "CDC", continued its movement after overnight stay", - stated in the message of the Department in Telegram-channel.
It is specified that the rescue group, despite the difficult weather conditions, is to overcome about 55 kilometers more.
Two Mi-8 helicopters of the Kamchatka aviation enterprise are also ready for departure from the villages of Milkovo and Ossora. On board are rescuers of the Kamchatka Regional Search and Rescue Base.
Earlier, on December 20, it was reported that the Mi-8 helicopter, which flew out to search for the missing plane An-2 in Kamchatka, returned to the village of Mayskoye because of heavy snow.
The disappearance of the plane An-2 became known on December 19. Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kamchatka region Sergei Lebedev reported about the beginning of the rescue operation. At the same time, the Eastern Interregional Investigative Directorate for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation noted that in Kamchatka began an investigation into the fact of an aviation accident with the aircraft An-2.
Later Lebedev said that from the aircraft received a signal of emergency landing. In the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region specified that on board the aircraft were 800 kg of commercial cargo, two crew members and one passenger.
At the same time it was reported that a ground group of rescuers went to the place of the alleged emergency landing of the plane An-2 in Kamchatka.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region also noted that a helicopter with rescuers from the regional search and rescue base flew from the village of Milkovo. In addition, from the city of Yelizovo was planned departure of a helicopter Mi-8 with personnel of the Kamchatka rescue center on board.
Soon Sergei Lebedev said that the rescuers caught a stable radio signal of the beacon in the search area of the missing An-2 airplane in Kamchatka, and the Mi-8 helicopter landed and is waiting out the weather.
Also, a representative of the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia), Artem Korenyako, said that the search for the An-2 plane missing in Kamchatka is complicated by difficult weather conditions and terrain features.
