US admits problems in handing over power to Trump over possible shutdown

In the transfer of power to the new administration of US President Donald Trump due to disruptions in the financing of the US government may face problems. This was reported by White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre on December 20.
"I will not delve excessively into hypotheses, but in reality the work on the transfer of power will be limited," she said at a briefing broadcast on the White House YouTube channel.
According to her, the current United States administration is doing everything possible to ensure a "smooth transition of power."
The day before, December 19, in the U.S. Congress did not pass the bill to extend funding for the government and raise the ceiling of the national debt. In support of the document were 174 members of the lower house of Congress, while 235 spoke against it. The bill provides for the extension of funding for the federal government until March 14, 2025 and the suspension until January 30, 2027 of the ceiling of the national debt of the United States, which in November for the first time exceeded the mark of $ 36 trillion.
Earlier, on December 18, Trump demanded from the Democrats to eliminate the ceiling of the U.S. national debt or significantly increase its level. He connected the importance of this issue with the vote in the U.S. Congress on the adoption of a temporary resolution to fund the government, without which the country faces a shutdown as early as January 20. In turn, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre accused Trump of allegedly ordering his fellow Republicans to shut down the US government.
Before that, on December 11, the U.S. Budget and Control Office (GAO) noted that Congress should immediately abolish the statutory ceiling on the national debt, tying the volume of borrowing to changes in government revenues and expenditures.
