Israel has withdrawn its troops from only one town in southern Lebanon during the truce with the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah. This was told to "Izvestia" in the UN peacekeeping mission in the country.

"The deployment of the Lebanese army has so far become possible only in areas that Israeli troops have left. So far, the only such place remains only the town of al-Hiyam. This is the only area that the Israeli military left and where the Lebanese units arrived. In all other areas and positions, the Israeli army remains present," Andrea Tenenti, the official representative of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), told Izvestia.

On the night of November 27, a truce between Israel and Hezbollah became known. The agreements provided for the establishment of control of the Lebanese army over the southern parts of the country for 60 days, as well as the gradual withdrawal of the IDF from Lebanese territory.

"The Lebanese army cannot go in there until they (Israeli troops. - Ed.) are withdrawn. The Lebanese army is ready, they are recruiting new soldiers. But their dislocation depends on the deployment of Israeli troops there", - said Andrea Tenenti.
