Scholz expressed condolences for the Magdeburg incident

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Dec. 20 expressed condolences to the families of those injured when a car collided with a crowd in the German city of Magdeburg.

"The reports from Magdeburg say something bad. My thoughts are with the victims and their families. We support you and the people of Magdeburg," he wrote on social network X (formerly Twitter).

He also thanked the "dedicated rescue workers during these anxious hours."

A car collision with a crowd in the city of Magdeburg in Germany became known earlier in the day. According to the portal T-Online, 11 people were killed in the accident and 60 others were injured. The police launched a large-scale operation and used a helicopter for this purpose. The footage shows many ambulances standing with sirens on. The injured are being treated right on the spot.

Also in the regional government of Saxony-Anhalt called a terrorist attack when a car hit a crowd of people at the Christmas market in Magdeburg.
