The activities of the Canadian Center for Development of Democracy in Russia, a Canadian non-governmental organization (NGO), have been declared undesirable on the territory of Russia because of its anti-Russian actions. This was reported on December 20 on the website of the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of the Russian Federation.

It is noted that the participants of the center are trying to disrupt the "Immortal Regiment" marches in Canada, spreading calls for protests in Russian cities, lobbying for amendments to Canadian legislation to tighten anti-Russian sanctions and calling for the supply of weapons to Ukraine.

According to the agency, the NGO also interacts with other extremist and undesirable organizations. The center was founded in Montreal in 2015.

Earlier, on 4 December, the Prosecutor-General's Office recognized the activities of the international organization The Satanic Temple as undesirable. The agency noted that with the support of U.S. government agencies, the participants of the organization promote destructive pseudo-theological ideas and justify violence against people. In addition, the structure supports extremist and terrorist movements and makes negative statements about the special operation.

Before that, on October 31, the American Young Presidents Organization (YPO) was recognized as an undesirable organization in the Russian Federation. According to the GP, it was engaged in stimulating protest activity, promoting information pressure on Russia and the policies of unfriendly states.
