Putin held a meeting with Matvienko in the Kremlin

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko in the Kremlin on December 20, during which she reported that the Federation Council had completed its fall session.
"We have fulfilled all our plans. We approved almost 560 laws, one was rejected with the creation of a conciliation commission. The Duma agreed with it," Matvienko said.
The Federation Council Speaker also noted the work of senators, who this year prepared 316 bills, of which 140 were passed.
"It is very important that senators come from the regions, see what problems there are, receive citizens, communicate with regional authorities. That is, the laws are earthly all," Matvienko added.
According to the Speaker of the Council of Federation, the main thing for the senators was the implementation of the President's message to the Federal Assembly. She reported that 81 out of 88 items aimed at the realization of the message were fully implemented. The remaining items are in the works and require additional time for finalization.
The day before, on December 19, Vladimir Putin discussed with the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin the work of the lower house of the Russian parliament. The Russian leader noted that the State Duma reacts quickly to the demands of the time and to what the country needs in a prompt manner.
