Metropolitan police officers detained a popular club DJ on suspicion of drug trafficking with a substantial amount of cocaine - the suspect kept over 1.2 kilograms of the drug at his home. The search was conducted within the framework of another criminal case on illegal trafficking of prohibited substances. How the club drug trade is organized, "Izvestia" analyzed.
Cargo worth millions
Effective work on the previously initiated case enabled drug police of the Central Administrative District Department of Internal Affairs to collect evidence against a native of Nevinnomyssk, suspected of cocaine trafficking in the capital region. He was detained in the southwest of the capital.
"During the search, a briquette and a fragment of a briquette of an unknown substance of white color, as well as nine bags with a powdery substance of white color were found and seized. According to the conducted research, part of the seized contained a narcotic drug - cocaine with a total weight of more than 1 kilogram 290 grams. Also seized were two electronic scales, packaging material, tape, magnets, vacuum meter",- reported in the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow, without naming the figurehead of the investigation.

Prohibited substances in six convolutions were also found and seized in the suspect's car. The court took him into custody.
- According to the words of the detainee, the seized substances were intended for further sale in the Moscow region, - specified the head of the Department of the I&E of the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow Vladimir Vasenin.
On the operational video footage the detainee explains that he allegedly purchased the substance through bookmarks and packaged everything in branded bags in his apartment, and then independently distributed the doses in caches for retail sale.
Music is not for everyone
A law enforcement source told Izvestia that the detainee's name is Stavropol native Yevgeny S., 40 years old. He is a professional IT specialist with a finance degree. Together with like-minded people, he organized a software development company in Stavropol, and was also involved in the supply of building materials and fertilizers. Recently, he has been actively involved in internet sales. In addition, he is seriously interested in creating music, performed in famous clubs in the capital. On his page there is a long list of famous musicians with whom he cooperated, he repeatedly took part in prestigious, including foreign, music festivals.
Yevgeny was detained in a rented apartment on Nakhimovsky Prospekt. According to the source of "Izvestia", the man had previously rented a home in another prestigious area of the capital - Ramenki. He often posted photos of his vacations in Ibiza and other prestigious foreign resorts on his social network page. Most of all posts with an offer to subscribers to listen to his tracks.
A source in the law enforcement agencies believes that S. was not only engaged in laying "master classes" (i.e. large batches of drugs), but also sold the goods to acquaintances from bohemian circles.
- The weight is very large, such a weight would not be trusted to a simple courier," said the Izvestiya interlocutor. - Its wholesale value on the market averages about 10 million rubles. The retail value is considerably higher.
What is "club sales"
The drug is most expensive directly in clubs, where the price can be two to three times higher than the "street" price, explained Sergei Pelikh, an expert on international drug trafficking, a retired colonel of justice, to Izvestia.
- This is a specific subspecies of drug trafficking, it is associated with certain types of music and closed hangouts. Indeed, in closed communities they understand perfectly well that if a certain musician or DJ is scheduled to perform, they can count on an evening with additional "leisure". As a rule, the user at such parties is promised narcotic substances of high purity. They sell their own at such parties either from hand to hand, or through bookmarks near the club or even in hiding places inside the establishment, - said Pelih.
According to Pelikh, as a rule, the administration of clubs knows about such activities. They either share or turn a blind eye, as the opportunity to buy cocaine attracts rich visitors and celebrities of a certain caliber.
Where it comes from
Cocaine producers are looking for new distribution channels in Russia. This can be judged at least by the number of large shipments of this drug intercepted in Russian ports. "Izvestia" has previously repeatedly written about such cases. The "cocaine route" to Russia begins in South and Central America - Colombia, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Bolivia. The cargo mainly travels by sea and enters Russia via St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region. The contraband is often hidden in containers with fruit or dumped on the approach to the port, and later the packages are picked up by the "receiving party".
According to Sergey Pelikh, the producing countries in the New World are looking for direct partners in Russia to increase supplies, bypassing the European part of the route.
Cocaine addiction is formed extremely quickly, explained Daniil Petrov, chief physician of the Clinic of Dr. Isaev, psychiatrist-drug addict. According to him, prolonged use of the substance is fraught with a complex stage of addiction - the effect of euphoria decreases, and the volume of the substance consumed increases. The addict begins to have sleep disorders, cardiovascular insufficiency appears, suicidal thoughts occur against the background of severe depression. Withdrawal syndrome is often accompanied by hallucinations and paranoid behavior.
