Air defense forces destroyed four drones over Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk regions

Air defense forces have destroyed four Ukrainian drones over the Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk regions. This was reported by the Defense Ministry on Friday, December 20.

It is noted that two drones were eliminated over Belgorod region, one each over Kursk and Bryansk regions. The Defense Ministry added that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attempted to attack with aircraft-type drones.

The strike was foiled between 19:00 and 20:00 Moscow time.

Earlier in the day, the city of Rylsk was subjected to a massive rocket attack by the AFU. As noted by Alexander Khinshtein, deputy governor of Kursk Region, the militants deliberately targeted peaceful social facilities. In particular, the Assumption Cathedral of the XVIII century was damaged in the strike. "Izvestia" showed the consequences of the strike on the city.

The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case under paragraph "b" part 3 of article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act"). Six people were killed in the attack, among them there is one child. In addition, nine people sought medical help.

Ukrainian militants attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the AFU units that invaded the Russian territory is under way.
