Political analyst points to Democrats' attempts to unseat Trump and Musk

Representatives of the US Democratic Party would like to break up Republican President-elect Donald Trump with his associates, including billionaire Ilon Musk. That they will succeed is quite likely. Pavel Feldman, candidate of political sciences, associate professor at the Academy of Labor and Social Relations, shared this opinion with Izvestia on December 20.
The day before, the HuffPost newspaper reported that Democrats consider Musk a "shadow president," while Trump is allegedly his vice president. The piece notes that it was Musk who spoke at the discussion of the bill to fund the government. Trump, in turn, remained silent, the journalists reported.
"Democrats are purposefully trying to drive a wedge between Musk and Trump. They are following the long-known principle of "divide and conquer". A team of young and very ambitious people has gathered around the US president-elect, which includes the head of SpaceX [Musk]," Feldman commented.
Nevertheless, he noted, the degree of Musk's political influence should not be exaggerated. Thus, the support of the richest man in the world has brought to the electoral piggy bank of Trump several million additional votes, added the interlocutor of the publication. However, this does not mean that Trump plans to share power with Musk, the political analyst emphasized.
"Trump, known for his desire for political dominance, always leaves the last word to himself. Knowing the ambitious character of the new White House master, representatives of the Democratic Party are deliberately trying to cause him jealousy and distrust towards his closest associates," he explained.
These attempts may well succeed, leading to the formation of the first political cracks in the Republican administration, Feldman said. Apparently, he added, the day after Trump's victory, the Democrats began a fierce struggle to regain power with an eye on the elections for the House of Representatives, which will be held in two years.
Earlier, on December 18, Musk said on his social media page X (formerly Twitter) that the US temporary budget bill was a crime. It was specified that the leadership of Congress agreed on a draft of the temporary budget of the United States until March - the document is designed to prevent the government funding cutoff.
Before that, on December 6, CNN reported that Musk spent at least $260 million on the election campaign of US President-elect Donald Trump.
Among other things, on November 13, Trump appointed Musk to head the new US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). It was specified that the department will have to take a direct part in the reorganization of the American government.
