Mandarins are not only delicious, but also useful fruits, especially in winter, when the body needs more vitamins and microelements. And if we talk about vitamin C, one fruit contains about half of its daily norm. "As you know, vitamin C plays an important role in ensuring the proper functioning of immunity, which is especially important in the cold season. In addition, it is involved in the synthesis of collagen. Mandarins also contain about 10% of the necessary daily allowance of dietary fiber, which helps the work of the digestive organs," - said the specialist.

This fruit is also rich in B vitamins, which ensure the development and functioning of cells, she said. Vitamin E, which is also contained in this fruit, has antioxidant properties, protecting cells from damage. Vitamin A, on the other hand, helps with vision and immunity.

According to the doctor, tangerines are a source of important micronutrients such as magnesium, calcium and phosphorus.

However, as the specialist emphasized, the content of vitamins and trace elements in tangerines is relatively small - one fruit has about 3-5% of the daily norm.

"It is also important to realize that, despite the benefits of vitamins, you should not overeat them. It is recommended to eat no more than 3-5 mandarins a day, since they contain quite a lot of sugars. In addition, their excessive consumption can lead to digestive problems," Gubareva emphasized.

Back in November, Natalia Kharchenko, candidate of medical sciences, gastroenterologist at the European Medical Center (EMC), told Izvestia about how to make New Year's dishes healthier. According to the expert, it is better to prepare classic recipes of festive dishes without adding mayonnaise. She also advised to choose lean meat, not to overeat and to limit alcohol consumption or give preference to dry wines.
