A criminal case has been opened over a terrorist attack after the AFU shelled Rylsk in the Kursk region

A criminal case has been opened over the fact of committing a terrorist act by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the town of Rylsk, Kursk Region. This was reported in the press service of the IC of Russia on December 20.

"A criminal case has been instituted on the indications of a crime under p. "b" part 3 of article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act")", - stated in the message of the Department in Telegram-channel.

According to the agency, militants of Ukrainian military formations on that day with the help of remote firearms struck a missile at Rylsk, where there were civilians. As the IC notes, the AFU chose civilian objects as targets. According to preliminary data, there are dead and injured. The exact number is still unknown.

It is specified that in the course of the preliminary investigation will be established and brought to justice all representatives of the AFU involved in this crime.

Alexander Khinshtein, the deputy governor of the Kursk region, said in his Telegram channel that the buildings of the House of Culture, physical training and recreation center, pedagogical college, school, fire station, other social facilities, as well as private homes were damaged.

Earlier in the day, Hinshtein reported that the town of Rylsk was subjected to massive rocket fire from the AFU. He noted that Ukrainian militants deliberately targeted peaceful social facilities.

Before that, on December 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin called Kiev's "Kursk adventure" a crime against the Russian people, especially against the civilian population. The head of state noted that there is no sense in the actions of the Kiev regime in the border regions and the tasks of specialized bodies are to fix these crimes and punish those responsible.

Ukrainian militants attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the AFU units that invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
