Nine districts of Transbaikalia to be transformed into districts

Nine districts of the Zabaikalsky Krai are planned to be transformed into districts. The corresponding decision was supported by the deputies of the regional legislature in the first reading, the correspondent of IA ChitaMedia reports on Friday, December 20.

We are talking about Aginsky, Chita, Nerchinsky, Borzinsky, Krasnochikoysky, Mogotuysky, Duldurguinsky, Khiloksky and Kyrinsky districts.

The initiators of the transformation in all districts were their heads, said Natalia Shcherbina, Deputy Prime Minister of the regional government. The proposal was supported by the localities. Only two of them - Cheremkhovskoye village in Krasnochikoysky district and another unnamed one in Nerchinsky district - were against it.

Despite the opponents, the decision on transformation was brought to the level of the zakzobranchy. A transition period until 2026 is envisioned for all nine districts.

Earlier in December it was reported that a new waste management project "Closed Space Economy" is being implemented in Transbaikalia. The goal of the program is to reduce landfilling by 50% and recycle 25% of other types of waste.
