The traffic police told about the rules of Christmas tree transportation

The carrier of a Christmas tree must have the documents for it. A fine of 100 thousand rubles is provided for illegal felling, as well as criminal liability. This was reported by the Russian State Automobile Inspectorate in its Telegram channel on December 20.

According to the traffic rules, the transportation of cargo is allowed provided that it does not limit the driver's vision, does not impede control and does not violate the stability of the car, does not cover the external lights and retroreflectors, license plates and identification marks. In this case, the load can protrude no more than 1 m in front and behind, as well as no more than 0.4 m from the outer edge of the parking lights, recalled in the State Automobile Inspectorate.

If the fir tree protrudes beyond the dimensions of the car more than a meter, it must be marked with signs "Large-size cargo", and in the dark - white and red retroreflectors.

To transport the Christmas tree on the roof of the car, it should be fixed with fastening systems, twine and harnesses. The elements should be passed through the branches, and the tree itself should be positioned with the root forward. You can put a blanket under the tree to avoid damaging the body. When transporting in the cabin, the lower part of the trunk should also be directed forward in the course of movement, fix the tree with ropes or straps, as well as shield it from the driver in case of an accident, indicated in the State Automobile Inspectorate.
