Stavropol Wildlife Rehabilitation Center received 62 birds that suffered during the fuel spill in the Black Sea in Kuban. This was reported by the administration of Anapa on Friday, December 20.

The birds are brought to the center after volunteers wash them from fuel oil, warm them and feed them. When the birds recover, they will be sent to freedom, writes IA StavropolMedia.

According to the Krasnodar Region Operational Headquarters, over 9 km of the coastline of Anapa and Temryuksky District were cleaned during the day on October 19. And for the whole period of work - almost 20 km. During this time volunteers saved the lives of 176 birds.

Tankers "Volgoneft-212" and "Volgoneft-239" suffered a disaster on December 15 in the Kerch Strait due to bad weather. As a result, there was a partial spill of oil products. The vessels ran aground.

13 people were evacuated from the first tanker: one of them died, 11 were injured. All 14 crew members were evacuated from the second tanker. Two criminal cases were opened over the incident, one of which was reclassified as more serious because of the death of a sailor.

Two municipalities in the Kuban introduced a state of emergency. Specialists have determined the algorithm of cleaning works.
