Before the launch of mass production in 2025, the Atom electric car will undergo three rounds of crash tests, with 30 cars being used in them. The developers of the model plan to get a result equivalent to four stars on the C-NCAP safety rating. This is stated in the message of the company "Kama", which was received by "Izvestia" on December 20.

According to Atom's developers, the electric car has already passed a series of simulated crash tests, which confirmed the design's compliance with the necessary safety indicators. Subsequent studies will include crash tests of various elements individually and assembled cars as a whole. Based on their results, final improvements will be made to the body before serial production.

One of the features of the Atom electric car is the absence of a center pillar. The main load in a side impact is taken by reinforced sills and swing doors. Door locks are located on the sills, and the flaps are additionally closed with each other. The sill beam of the electric car has a patented design and structure in the cross section, and the outer part of the profile has a trapezoidal shape, which is necessary for damping the impact energy.

Kama will also conduct reliability and durability tests, including cars in a salt chamber in alternation with test runs on a proving ground, simulating five years of car use in a metropolitan area or a region with a maritime climate. Almost all elements of the body of the Atom will be galvanized on both sides, to protect the body from corrosion will also be used technology of applying cataphoretic primer and treatment of hidden body cavities wax, the company said.

On December 13, it was reported that prototypes of the domestic electric car Atom passed the first part of tests on public roads and in the Test Center of FSUE NAMI. Serial production of Atoms is scheduled for the third quarter of 2025, the electric cars will be produced at the Moskvich plant in Moscow.

On July 31, a serial version of the interior of the Atom was presented. The car will receive a steering wheel with a built-in screen. The interior will be available in two color variants - dark and light. High-quality and wear-resistant eco-leather is used for finishing.
