Employees of Rospotrebnadzor are checking stores in Krasnoyarsk region for sprats, which caused two people to contract botulism. This was reported on Friday, December 20, by the press service of the regional department of the agency.

Information about the diseased earlier in the day came from Yekaterinburg. Presumably, two female relatives bought at the mini-market "Sprats in oil from Baltic sprat carcasses" trademark "For the Motherland" and felt sick.

Medics detected botulinum toxin in the products and in the women's blood. Establishment of the circumstances of the incident is controlled by the prosecutor's office. The victims are in intensive care.

As reported in Krasnoyarsk Rospotrebnadzor, the region sells these canned goods, but with a different date of manufacture. Dangerous sprats produced on 13.09.2024 were not found. Specialists continue to check stores.

The manufacturer himself called sprats with botulinum toxin falsified. Thus, the head of the quality assurance department of the fish factory "For the Motherland" Anna Robochenko said in a conversation with "Izvestia" that the company handed over all the products, which remained in the archive samples, for examination to representatives of Rospotrebnadzor and Rosselkhoznadzor.

As KrasnoyarskMedia IA notes, if you find sprats of this brand, you should definitely check the date of production. If they are made on 13.09.2024, they should not be consumed. The dangerous canned sprats should be reported to Rospotrebnadzor.
