Police stopped production of counterfeit sodas in Khimki, Moscow region


Illegal production of counterfeit carbonated drinks of well-known foreign brands has been suppressed in the Moscow Region town of Khimki. This was reported by the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry Irina Volk on December 20.
The equipment was located in a hangar on the territory of the industrial zone on Rabochaya Street. Foreign citizens illegally staying on the territory of the Russian Federation were hired to work. They made counterfeit drinks and bottled them with Coca-Cola and Pepsi labels. After that, the lemonade was realized through wholesale buyers in the Moscow region.
"Police officers detained four suspects. During the inspection of the premises were found more than 18 thousand bottles of finished products, an automated liquid bottling line, containers and other items of evidentiary value," - indicated Volk in her Telegram-channel.
Criminal cases have been opened under Article 180 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal use of means of individualization of goods, someone else's trademark") and Article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organization of illegal migration"). The defendants were taken into custody.
Three foreigners working in the workshop were charged with violation of the rules of stay in the Russian Federation (Article 18.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation). They will have to pay fines, after which they will be deported from the country.
Earlier, on December 4, employees of the Department of the Federal Security Service (FSSB) of Russia in Kherson region stopped an attempt to trade in counterfeit and unlabeled tobacco products on a particularly large scale. Law enforcers found more than 189 thousand packs of products without excise stamps. The total value is more than 24 million rubles.
A criminal case under Part 6 of Article 171.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Production, purchase, storage, transportation or sale of goods and products without marking and (or) application of information provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation") has been initiated. The defendant faces up to six years of imprisonment.
