The State Duma assessed NATO's readiness for direct conflict with Russia

NATO countries have always been preparing for war with Russia. This was stated by Alexei Chepa, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs, on Friday, December 20, assessing the alliance's preparation for a direct conflict with Moscow.
"It is obvious now, after their position on Ukraine turned out to be a loser, their forecasts did not come true. Therefore, they are probably preparing some new strategy. Our life is changing. We understand it perfectly well that NATO and did not hide that they were always going to attack, and always built it their strategy," Chepa told Lenta.Ru.
Earlier in the day, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said that NATO is preparing for an armed conflict with Russia, these risks are taken into account by Moscow in military planning, RT reported.
Grushko noted that the Russian side has consistently adhered to the course of avoiding a direct clash, in particular, by demonstrating its military capabilities. He also admitted that the signals sent by the Russian Federation about the possible consequences of a "show of force" with Moscow are being read in the West, 360.ru reported. The deputy head of the diplomatic ministry also said that Russia's security will be ensured in any scenario, aif.ru reported.
On November 25, Admiral Rob Bauer, head of the alliance's military committee, said that NATO is discussing the possibility of launching preventive strikes against Russia in case of conflict with the alliance countries. It was specified that in case of a hypothetical attack, the alliance should try to strike with high-precision means to hit launchers in the Russian Federation. Commenting on this statement, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called it absolutely irresponsible.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the plenary session of the Valdai Club on November 7, called NATO the only remaining bloc in the world and a blatant anachronism. He noted that the alliance, which has lost its relevance, violates international norms and its own principles.
