The last decades have shown how damaging the policy of separation has become for the post-Soviet countries, but 2025 will be the beginning of their real reunification. This opinion was voiced by the chairman of the Moldovan opposition bloc Victory, Ilan Shor, in his New Year's greeting. The video was published in the politician's Telegram channel.

"The last decades, and especially the last year, have proved how damaging, complicated and bad for people the policy of disengagement is. You and I see the result of the fact that our enemies - Western countries - are trying to constantly promote the idea of disengagement of post-Soviet countries," he emphasized.

Shor noted that the states have distanced themselves from each other, but people have not become better off. As an example, he cited Moldova, where gas and electricity in the XXI century have become a luxury not available to everyone.

"I see today the abyss [Moldova] is in. I see how the West today steals elections, freedom of speech, democracy - everything to prevent Moldova from living well. So that Moldova is not part of the unity of its past. And as you and I know, there is no future without the past," the politician said.

According to Shor, the countries of the former Soviet Union need to recognize that they have a single cultural center and a single beginning.

"We are a single whole, we were, are and will be. I am sure that 2025 will be the year when we will start reunification. A real one, not in words. (...) For my part, I promise that I will do everything in my power to make this reunification happen," he concluded.

Ilan Shor is a Moldovan businessman and politician, founder of the opposition bloc "Victory". In 2019, he had to leave the country due to criminal prosecution. According to Shor, the criminal case was launched illegally and under pressure from the current authorities.
