The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia has opened a criminal case against a Danish citizen, the press service of the agency reported on December 20.

Annabel Jorgensen is suspected of committing crimes under p. "a", paragraph "c" of Part 2 of Article 205, Part 3 of Article 359 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Committing a terrorist act", "Participation of a mercenary in an armed conflict").

According to the investigation, the woman is directly involved in hostilities on the side of the armed formations of Ukraine. She illegally crossed the Russian border and entered the territory of the Kursk region in November 2024.

"Pursuing the goals of intimidating the population, causing significant property damage and destabilizing the activities of the authorities, she committed criminal acts against peaceful residents of the region," - said in the message of the IC of the Russian Federation.

It is noted that the investigation is taking measures to establish the whereabouts of the defendant and her accomplices.

Earlier, on December 18, the Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) began consideration of the criminal case against 40-year-old citizen of Georgia Nikolos Berianidze, who voluntarily joined the national battalion "Azov" (terrorist organization banned in Russia). The man is accused of mercenarism and attempt on the life of a serviceman.

It is reported that the state prosecutor asked the court to find Berianidze guilty and sentence him to life imprisonment.
