RAMI announced plans to change CMTPL insurance rates in 2025

In 2025, CMTPL insurance rates will be adjusted for motor vehicles, public transport and trucks. For individuals, coefficients for an unlimited list of persons authorized to drive a vehicle will be increased. Also a number of territorial coefficients will be changed. This was reported by the president of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RUIA) Evgeny Ufimtsev, reports the correspondent of "Izvestia" from a press conference on December 20.

Thus, for motorcyclists, the boundaries of the tariff corridor will be expanded by 20% in both directions. Also, when calculating CMTPL tariffs for motorcycles will now be taken into account individual, different from other vehicles "power coefficient" (CM) and "coefficient of age and experience" (ACE).

It is also envisaged to expand the tariff corridor by 11.6% in both directions for public transport and by 20% for trucks (weight not exceeding 16 tons). Certain values of territorial coefficients will be reduced in large cities and increased in smaller cities and towns. For individuals, the coefficient for an unlimited list of persons authorized to drive will be increased from 2.32 to 3.16.

RAMI emphasized that the tariff corridor has not changed for more than two years, despite changes in the market of auto parts, difficulties with their logistics and shortages of some brands. Expansion of the tariff corridor will help in solving the problem of falsification of data on concluded contracts of CMTPL insurance for motor vehicles and will contribute to reducing the unprofitability of this segment as a whole, said Evgeny Ufimtsev.

The head of RAMI noted that currently the corresponding draft of the Central Bank's instructions concerning changes in coefficients and in tariffs, is under consideration by the Ministry of Justice. According to Ufimtsev, the proposed innovations are expected to come into force in early 2025. The head of the National Insurance Information System (NSIS) Nikolay Galushin indicated that the changes concerning motorcycles will come into force at the beginning of the motorcycle season - by spring.
