Summary of special operations in Ukraine for the week


A special military operation to protect civilians in Donbas has been carried out by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Defense Ministry reported that during this time the Russian Armed Forces liberated the settlements of Annivka, Veseliy Gai, Elizavetovka, Trudovoye, Uspenovka, Novopustynka, Pushkino, Starye Terny, Zelenovka and Novy Komar in the DNR.
The Russian army also launched 24 group strikes with precision-guided weapons and attack drones (UAVs), which hit energy facilities used to supply the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), the infrastructure of military airfields, assembly and storage sites for drones, a military echelon at an unloading station, and temporary deployment points for enemy units and foreign mercenaries.
In addition, Russian air defenses shot down a Ukrainian MiG-29 aircraft, six US ATACMS operational-tactical missiles, three UK-made Storm Shadow air-launched cruise missiles, a UK-made Neptune long-range guided missile, four French Hammer guided aerial bombs, 18 US-made HIMARS active multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) shells, and 519 aircraft-type UAVs.
At the same time, 59 AFU servicemen surrendered at the line of contact during the week.
In total, 650 planes, 283 helicopters, 38,152 UAVs, 590 anti-aircraft missile systems, 19,933 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,504 MLRS combat vehicles, 19,874 field artillery and mortars, 29,384 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation.
