Mayonnaise is not intended for baking and becomes unhealthy. Nutritionist, nutritionist Sofia Kovanova told about it on Friday, December 20.

According to the specialist, meat when baked with mayonnaise retains its juiciness, but mayonnaise itself becomes a harmful product.

"Under the influence of a temperature of more than 100 degrees this sauce disintegrates into fat and water, and fats in this case will be carcinogenic, causing negative consequences for the whole body," - explained Kovanova in conversation with aif.ru.

The expert specified that it is also not worth using homemade mayonnaise with mustard instead of store-bought mayonnaise for baking, Life.Ru writes.

The day before, Kovanova said that mayonnaise is among the products whose consumption should be limited.

According to the nutritionist, mayonnaise can be useful for those who do not eat cheese, beef or eggs, as it contains vitamins E and K, as well as omega 3, 6, 9. These substances have a positive effect on hormonal status, skin and heart health.

Expert doctor of the medical company "LabQuest" Vera Serezhina reminded in conversation with RIAMO that salads prepared in advance, especially with mayonnaise, have a limited shelf life - no more than 12 hours with dressing.

December 17, nutritionist Elena Solomatina said that mayonnaise is not as harmful as it is commonly thought, if prepared without the use of harmful ingredients. Thus, the product based on olive oil contains omega-9 fatty acids, useful for the cardiovascular system. And eggs in its composition are sources of vitamins A, E, D and protein, RT reports.

Gastroenterologist Vladimir Loginov said that one serving of Olivier salad contains up to 500 calories, and a serving of herring under a fur coat can reach up to 600, according to the website kp.ru.

In turn, the chairman of the Union of Consumers of Russia, Alexei Koitov, said that before the New Year the number of expired goods on the shelves in stores increases, reports NSN.
