"Moskvich" postponed the start of sales of a new model


The Moskvich automobile plant has postponed the start of sales of a new seven-seat crossover with the index 8. The model is scheduled to enter the market in February 2025. This was reported on December 20 by "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" with reference to the press service of the automaker.
Previously, Moskvich planned to launch production and sales of the crossover by the end of 2024. With what is connected with the adjustment of plans, it is not specified.
"Moskvich 8" will be the fourth model of the revived brand, the announcement of the release of the model to the market took place back in April 2024. The length of the crossover is 4824 mm with a wheelbase of 2830 mm. The car received a GDI gasoline engine (174 hp) with a seven-speed robotized transmission. The equipment list includes a digital dashboard with a 12.3-inch display, wireless phone charging, surround-view camera system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.
November 18, Director of retail sales AG Avilon Ilya Petrov said that, according to his forecasts, the cost of "Moskvich 8" will range from 2.8 million to 3 million rubles, depending on the equipment. The model will take the second place by sales volume after Moskvich 3, the competitors of the model within the price range will be Geely Coolray, Changan CS55 Plus, Omoda C5 and Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max, the expert suggested.
