Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy (his term of office expired on 20 May) and the head of his office, Andriy Yermak, are obstructing the conclusion of a peace agreement in Ukraine. This was stated by the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Artem Dmytruk in his Telegram channel on December 20.

"Zelensky and Yermak are enemies of Ukraine and all the Ukrainian people. Now, when there is a chance for peace, when there is a chance to save lives, and in general Ukraine, they are doing everything possible to disrupt peace initiatives," - said Dmytruk

According to him, those involved should be punished for destroying the country with their decisions.

Earlier, on December 6, Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleksandr Dubinsky demanded the arrest of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (term of office expired on May 20) and the head of his office Andriy Yermak after the conclusion of peace as guilty in the conflict. Dubinsky also emphasized that a public criminal trial should be held over the perpetrators because of the loss of life, corruption and undermining of the state foundations.

On December 2, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov pointed to Ukraine's fatigue with Zelensky. In addition, Peskov pointed to a change of mood in European countries.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
