16 people were detained for illegal gambling in Perm Krai

Investigators in the Perm region detained 16 people of an organized group for the illegal organization and conduct of gambling games using the Internet outside the gambling zone. This was reported on December 20 in the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Perm region.

"In the period from November 2023 to the present unidentified persons, acting as a group, illegally organized and conducted gambling games with the use of information and telecommunications network "Internet" outside the gambling zone in non-residential premises located on the territory of Perm and the Perm region", - noted in the Telegram-channel of the department.

During the searches 65 computer stations, 19 cell phones, as well as cash - 1 million rubles - were seized from the suspects.

The perpetrators were taken into custody to determine the measure of punishment. A criminal case has been opened. The investigation continues to check the incident.

Earlier, November 1, in Chelyabinsk region, FSB officers discovered and suppressed the activities of illegal gambling business in prison. Eight Russian citizens were found guilty for illegal organization and conduct of gambling, as well as for organizing and participating in the activities of an extremist organization.
