Chairman of the A Just Russia - For Truth party Sergei Mironov has sent the head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov a proposal to oblige stores to install special food shelves with free essential products for the needy. The text of the December 20 letter is quoted by TASS.

"One of the proposals of the "Fair Russia - For Truth" faction in the State Duma is to enshrine in the current legislation the obligation of business entities to organize social shelves with relevant goods for their free transfer to pensioners, as well as other socially unprotected categories of citizens on the basis of documents confirming their status," the letter reads.

According to Mironov, it is worth determining the list of products to be presented under the initiative, as well as to establish criteria for the quality of food. He added that it is necessary to introduce a simplified taxation system for businessmen who will take part in organizing the process, and special control over the work of entrepreneurs in food stores.

Mironov also called for the development of infrastructure and communications for more efficient food distribution.

On November 19, Anatoly Nikitin, a deputy of the Moscow Regional Duma and chairman of the Union of Pensioners of the region, said that a fair pension for non-working Russians in 2025 should be 40% of the average current salary.
