The weather forecaster reported ice in Moscow

Roads in Moscow were covered with an icy crust on Friday night. This was reported on December 20 by leading specialist of the weather center "Fobos" Mikhail Leus.

"In Moscow icing was noted by the weather station of Moscow State University, as well as weather stations of airports Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo and Domodedovo. In the Moscow region, icing was observed in Volokolamsk, Novo-Jerusalem, Podmoskovnaya, Kolomna and Cherusti. The thickness of ice deposits amounted from 1 to 3 mm," he wrote in his Telegram channel.

Leus pointed out that the formation of ice in the capital is explained by a warm atmospheric front, which came to the European part of Russia.

The day before, on December 19, the orange level of weather danger was declared in Moscow due to freezing rain. Forecasters predicted warming to +2 degrees by Friday morning, December 20.
