Saldo pointed out the need to liberate Kherson without destruction

Kherson must be liberated without destruction. This statement was made by the governor of Kherson region Vladimir Saldo in a conversation with TASS on December 20.
"This inhuman attitude to our own, at first it amazed us, but now we realize that it is only necessary to eradicate it. Therefore, Kherson will be released. And he, when we left the city, we left it unharmed," he said.
The city was damaged only by US HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, which hit civilian objects, where there were people. Saldo emphasized that the Russian side did not do so.
"The city cannot be called killed. Our task is to liberate it, destroy it as little as possible and rebuild it," the governor said.
Earlier, on September 27, Saldo said that the liberation of Kherson would be a precursor to the liberation of Nikolaev and Odessa. He recalled that the Russian army during the Great Patriotic War also liberated first Kherson, and then Nikolaev and Odessa.
Before that, on January 8, the head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) Denis Pushilin emphasized that the mistake with the belonging of Odessa and Mykolaiv to Ukraine should be corrected: these are Russian cities that should be liberated.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision to carry it out was taken against the background of an aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
