The entourage of outgoing U.S. leader Joe Biden during the four years of his presidential term as head of state provided special working conditions for the politician. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal on December 19, citing sources.

Biden, the oldest president in the history of the United States, has repeatedly given his political opponents reason to question his cognitive abilities, regularly making reservations and bloopers in public speeches. Republicans, in turn, used this in the inter-party struggle to question Biden's ability to effectively manage the country.

The publication's material, based on interviews with nearly 50 people who are familiar with the details of the president's interactions with other officials, partially confirms the above statements. As the publication notes, interactions between Biden and many members of his administration were infrequent and often followed a rigid script, while conversations should be brief and focused.

"Aides abbreviated meetings and controlled access, top advisers acted as intermediaries, and public interactions became more scripted," the report elaborated.

A former senior aide to Biden told the newspaper that at least one member of the administration stopped requesting phone calls with the president because it became apparent that these requests would not find a favorable response.

"Some legislative leaders have had difficulty getting the president's attention at key moments, including in the run-up to the disastrous withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan," the newspaper wrote.

Thus, former U.S. administration officials said it often seemed as if Biden was not keeping up with current world events.

Earlier, on July 21, the now-elected US Vice President from the Republican Party James David Vance noted that the current Vice President Kamala Harris lied to citizens for four years about Biden's mental abilities.

Lawyer, political scientist, former Pennsylvania state senator and Republican Bruce Marks suggested in a conversation with Izvestia that Biden may have been pushed out of the presidential race by his physical and mental problems.

On July 6, WURD radio host Andrea Loful-Sanders admitted to receiving instructions from the White House and a list of questions to ask the American leader during the interview. The station, in turn, fired the journalist for conducting an interview uncoordinated with the management, violating the practice of media independence. In addition, another journalist, Wisconsin-based Civic Media radio station host Earl Ingram, who also interviewed Biden, said he was given questions to ask the president.

Later, the campaign headquarters of incumbent U.S. President and presidential candidate Joe Biden said that they would no longer offer questions to journalists in advance for interviews with the American leader.

In addition, on July 5, The Washington Post reported that Biden's entourage believes that his health problems are making themselves known more and more often, and his condition will only worsen. Some of his aides noted that the physical signs of the president's aging have become more obvious and often noticeable: an unsteady gait, the need for help getting from place to place, and a hoarse voice that makes the politician's long speeches even harder to hear.

The 82-year-old Biden is the oldest president in U.S. history, and his health condition regularly becomes a cause for discussion and concern among citizens. Strange behavior and frequent mistakes of the American leader make many Americans question his mental health.
