Russian-built frigate Tushil sailed from Kaliningrad to India

The multi-purpose guided-missile frigate Tushil ("Shield") left Kaliningrad for India on December 17. The relevant information was published on December 19 on the website of the Indian Ministry of Defense.
"INS Tushil, the Indian Navy's newest multi-purpose frigate with stealth guided missiles, departed Kaliningrad (Russia) for India on December 17, marking the start of its first operational deployment," the statement said.
According to the ministry, the frigate will pass through the Baltic and North Seas, the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, and conduct joint patrols with the fleets of friendly countries along the way. In addition, maritime exercises will be organized, including in areas with a high level of piracy in the region.
It is noted that the exercises and port calls are aimed at "strengthening India's maritime cooperation with coastal countries in the region".
Earlier on December 9, the missile frigate Tushil was handed over to the Indian Navy by the United Shipbuilding Corporation's (USC) Yantar plant. The ceremony was held in the presence of the country's Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. It is noted that the Kaliningrad plant used the developments and advanced technologies of Russian shipbuilding.
On June 21, the Russian government approved the signing of an agreement between the Russian Federation and India on mutual dispatch of troops, warships and aircraft on the territories of the two countries. The project was preliminarily worked out with the Indian side. On August 23, a delegation of the Russian Defense Ministry discussed with Indian counterparts during an official visit to the country the possibilities of expanding naval cooperation between the two countries.
