Some children's diseases are treated exclusively in the hospital during hospitalization, and they categorically cannot be treated at home because of the risk of complications. This was reported on December 20 by Daria Nelyubina, pediatrician of SM-Clinica for children.

She specified that the question of the need for hospitalization should be raised already at the age of newborn, if the child yellowed about two days after discharge from the maternity hospital.

Jaundice of newborns is quite common in pediatric practice. It can be both physiological and pathological. It is caused by high levels of bilirubin in the blood of the child, which is formed after the breakdown of maternal hemoglobin," - "Gazeta.ru" reports the words of Nelyubina.

She noted that it is necessary to contact a doctor with possible subsequent hospitalization if after about five days the child will not have a tendency to reduce jaundice.

Nelyubina also spoke about possible hospitalization for diseases that are associated with the peculiarities of the structure of the respiratory tract of children.

This may be bronchiolitis, which is characterized by obstruction of small diameter bronchi and bronchioles in children under two years old, or acute stenotic laryngotracheitis - an inflammatory disease of the larynx and trachea, a sign of which is a barking cough.

She noted that one of the common diseases in children is obstructive bronchitis, a disease of large and medium-sized bronchi. Its symptoms are quite frequent coughing, as well as the development of respiratory failure and a sharp deterioration of the child's condition in general.

In the group of diseases that require mandatory inpatient treatment, there are also some diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Most of them run the type of gastroenterocolitis, when inflamed simultaneously gastric mucosa and small and large intestine. Signs of the disease can be sharp pain in the upper abdomen, as well as nausea, vomiting, weakness and reluctance to eat.

The doctor also reported that it is not worth delaying the time to seek help from a specialist. Observation in hospital has clear advantages in patient monitoring and treatment, and prevents the occurrence of possible complications.

Earlier, on December 11, Professor Natalia Geppe on the eve of the World Bronchial Asthma Day said that the Sechenov Center for Maternity and Childhood uses innovative technologies to diagnose asthma in children from an early age and creates new tools to identify the disease.
