Putin deemed serious the air defense system installed by the West in Kiev

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin that Kiev has installed a fairly serious air defense system (air defense system) against Western countries. A video of the conversation on December 19 was published in Zarubin's Telegram channel.
"Kiev, in my opinion, according to what I know - there is already organized by Western countries quite a serious air defense system there. Well, let them turn on everything they have, including the missile defense system and these anti-missiles that are on alert in Romania and Poland," Putin said when asked about Russia's readiness for a "high-tech duel" using the Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile.
According to the Russian leader, Russia is ready right now for a "technological duel," and it is not necessarily possible to hold a duel with Western air defense assets in Kiev.
"We are ready right now, right today," Putin emphasized.
Earlier in the day, Putin said during the "Results of the year" that the enemy has no chance to shoot down the Oreshnik missiles. Thus the head of state commented on the opinion of some foreign experts that Western air defenses can allegedly do it at the launch stage.
The Russian leader suggested to these experts to organize a technological experiment - a kind of "high-tech duel of the XXI century" - in the course of which an object to be hit will be identified, where air defense and missile defense forces will concentrate their work, and the Russian military will strike there "Oreshnik", after which the result will be found out.
"Results of the Year" with Vladimir Putin took place earlier in the day and lasted 4.5 hours. This format, which combines a direct line and a press conference for the media, allows the president to convey his position not only on citizens' issues, but also on the state and world agenda, which is often asked about by journalists, including those from Western countries.
