The IMF reported on the rapid growth of wages and high consumption in Russia

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said about the rapid growth of wages of Russian citizens and the high level of consumption in the country. This was announced by the IMF's communications director at a briefing on December 19, which was published on the fund's website.

"Economic growth has been driven by strong private consumption supported by a very tight labor market and rapidly rising wages," Kozak said.

She specified that growth was supported by strong corporate investment as well as "brisk credit growth."

Earlier, on December 9, the State Duma reported that in Russia the wages of doctors, teachers and other public sector workers will rise by 13.2% from January 1, 2025.

Before that, December 5, it was reported that in Russia in the field of car sales and service salary offers increased by 30% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 98,122 rubles.

November 18, it became known that in 70% of companies in Russia in 2024 increased salaries. According to experts, most often - in 45% of cases - their increase was due to an increase in salary or salary and bonus at once (41%), 13% of employers limited themselves to an increase in bonuses. In 51% of cases, income growth amounted to 5-10%, in 37% - 10-20% and in 9% - 21% or more. At the same time, 58% of employers plan to increase salaries in 2025.
