Artillerymen destroyed AFU infantry in the border area of the Kursk region

The 122-millimeter towed howitzer D-30 of the Tula Guards Airborne Compound destroyed an infantry unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the border area of Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 20.

Artillerymen perform tasks to destroy armored vehicles, firepower, ammunition depots and fortified positions of the AFU around the clock. After conducting aerial reconnaissance, the paratroopers detected an accumulation of AFU infantry in a forest belt, the target was confirmed and its coordinates were transferred to the calculation.

"The calculation has been working for more than a year, the team is well-coordinated. There are five people in the calculation, we work on different targets - both self-propelled vehicles, cars and AFU personnel. Often we work with attacking aircraft, we support them in the offensive, we clear forest belts before they come in. After the artillery works, the attacking aircraft come," said the gun commander with the call sign Tira.

The D-30 gun crew destroyed the target, this was confirmed and recorded by means of independent control. As noted Tira, the howitzer brings significant damage to the enemy.

Earlier, on December 14, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the howitzer "Hyacinth-B" destroyed an artillery gun of the AFU in the Kursk border area. Intelligence detected and found out the exact location of the AFU artillery installation, which attacked the positions of the Russian Armed Forces (AF). Its coordinates were passed on to the Hyacinth-B calculation, which aimed the howitzer and executed a precise shot that hit the enemy's gun.

Ukrainian militants attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The operation to destroy the AFU continues.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
