Tatyana Ziborova, a resident of the Kursk region who appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin's direct line, told Izvestia about her evacuation.

"We left on August 7, when we had tanks driving through the streets all day. There was such a rumble, but nothing could be seen in the sky, explosions were heard. My acquaintances called me and told me to leave quickly, they said that tanks were coming in the direction of Soldatske and shooting everything moving," she said.

Ziborova also noted that their village is not under Ukrainian occupation, but is constantly shelled.

"They shell so much that half of our village is broken," she added.

In addition, the woman specified that the evacuated residents realize that the liberation of the territories is a difficult and not fast process, but they want to imagine what to do next.

"We all understand that it is very difficult, we understand that it is not one day. But we need an understanding of how long it will be and what we should do," Ziborova emphasized.

Valentina Shabanova, another resident of Bolshesoldatsky district, also noted that she wants to understand whether people from Kursk region will be able to return to their homes.

"The pressing question that concerns most people from Bolshezoldatsky district: will it be possible to return there? If it will be all demined and restored, then, of course, very much want to return <...> Listening to the President, there is hope that everything will be restored, we will return and live," - shared the woman.

Earlier, on December 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin, answering Tatiana Ziborova's question, during the "Results of the Year" said that all facilities, housing and infrastructure in Kursk region will be restored. Certificates for the restoration of houses will also be issued. Regarding the timing of the liberation of Kursk region, the leader noted that he could not name a specific date, as at the moment the fighting in the region continues.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
