- The Ministry of Transport has started work on mandatory accommodation of children with parents on airplanes

The Russian Ministry of Transport is working on the issue of compulsory boarding of children next to their parents in an airplane. This was announced by Russian Transport Minister Roman Starovoit on December 19.
"We are working with airlines on the issue of mandatory co-positioning of children with their parents on board the aircraft," - the words of the Minister TASS.
Earlier, on February 5, it was reported that a group of United Russia deputies is developing a new obligation for airlines - a ban on the seating of parents and children on airplanes.
According to the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family Protection Tatyana Butskaya, now airlines have different ways to solve this issue: some of them "bind" the child's ticket to the parent who first made the reservation, others - to the last one who made it. Moreover, air carriers may interpret joint seating differently - some believe that "if a child and an adult sit across the aisle, then in principle they sit next to each other," the parliamentarian said.
