The expert gave tips on how to save money on repairs

With prices constantly rising, home renovations can be a significant financial burden by 2025. Nevertheless, careful planning, the use of affordable methods and a rational approach will significantly reduce costs. Alexei Orekhov, an expert in interior decoration, CEO of the company NATEK, told Izvestia on December 20 about how to save money on repairs.

According to the expert, one of the main methods of saving is the timely purchase of materials. For example, during seasonal sales or promotions, you can buy tiles, laminate or paint at very attractive prices. You should also pay attention to the remaining stocks of last year's collections - they are often realized with significant discounts, and their quality is often comparable to new offers. If space allows, you should buy building materials with a reserve: this will help to avoid unnecessary expenses for a second purchase in the midst of repair, when prices can rise sharply.

"An important aspect is the rational distribution of work. A combined approach will minimize costs. Simple tasks, such as painting walls, laying laminate flooring or installing skirting boards, can be done independently," the expert said.

According to him, when hiring craftsmen, it is necessary to work directly, avoiding intermediaries. Construction companies often charge additional fees, which leads to an increase in the total cost of repairs. Before signing a contract, it is recommended to read reviews, clarify all aspects of the estimate and discuss warranty terms. Direct negotiations with the craftsmen will help to manage the budget more flexibly and possibly get a discount.

In addition, working in stages is another way to save money. This approach will spread the costs evenly and avoid large financial burdens in a short period of time.

"Saving on repairs doesn't mean giving up on quality. It's more about a reasonable approach, choosing the best materials, distribution of tasks and willingness to spend a little time to study the market," Orekhov summarized.

Earlier, on December 17, construction expert and CEO of the company GLASNAB Fyodor Vasiliev told "Izvestia" about the cases in which free repairs are entitled. According to him, free interior decoration or repair can be provided in the following cases: violation of contract terms by the developer; emergencies caused by the management company, housing and communal services or authorities.
