Faizullin noted the role of preferential mortgages in improving the housing conditions of Russians

Preferential mortgage is one of the basic and necessary tools to improve the housing conditions of citizens, said Minister of Construction and Housing of the Russian Federation Irek Faizullin on December 19. He stressed that it is necessary to carefully address the issue of mortgage program limits so that they could be used by as many residents of the country as possible.

"Today people from the most different regions of our country, asking their questions to the President [of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin], showed the demand and importance of preferential mortgage programs as a key support measure in this direction. We also see in preferential mortgage programs one of the basic and necessary tools for improving the housing conditions of citizens. It is necessary to carefully address the issue with the limits of mortgage programs, so that they could be used by as many Russian residents as possible," - "Izvestia" quotes "Faizullin" words of the press service of the Ministry of Construction.

According to the Minister, since the beginning of the year, the family mortgage at 6% has already been used by 353.5 thousand Russian families. The Ministry of Construction together with colleagues from the economic block has already finalized the mechanism of distribution of limits for this program - now there will be common limits for all banks.

"And, of course, taking into account the task defined by the president, together with the Ministry of Finance of Russia, the Central Bank and all involved colleagues from the government, we will consider further possible ways to develop and improve the mechanism and programs of preferential mortgages, so that people can calmly plan their future and be sure that the state will support them," said Faizullin.

Earlier in the day, the Russian president said during the "Results of the Year" that the family mortgage should not have any limits. He noted that this issue was discussed with the government. At the same time, in his opinion, this program should be preserved.

At the same time, the Ministry of Finance of Russia said that it would prepare amendments to the rules for granting family mortgages to exclude the mechanism of limits from the program.
