In Moscow on the Kaluga highway the Traffic Management Center (TMC) has installed the first in the capital "sheriff bar" as part of the experiment. This was reported by the Moscow Department of Transport in its Telegram channel on December 19.

"Sheriff-balka" is a special panel with flashing red and blue beacons. It appeared on the 27th km of Kaluga highway towards the region (near the village of Sosenki). Such a panel was installed to reduce the accident rate, since since the beginning of the year three accidents occurred on the site due to non-compliance with the speed limit.

The deptrans expects that after the installation of the "sheriff-beam" there will be no more accidents on this section. The beam is visible to drivers from afar: it is assumed that cars will understand in advance that there is a dangerous section ahead, and reduce speed 500 meters before it, avoiding sudden braking.

December 12, Deptrans reported that in Moscow from December 16 to December 25 should not use a personal car, as during this period the number of cars on the streets will grow by 30-50 thousand compared to the beginning of December and will exceed 2.91 million units.

Prior to that, on December 11, it became known that in Moscow refused to use moulages of road cameras of photo-video registration of violations. This was reported by the head of the Central Road Traffic Safety Department Mikhail Kizlyk. In some regions such moulages are used to save budgetary funds. According to the idea, drivers can confuse the moulage with a real camera and reduce speed.
