- The State Duma responded to the words of Trump's adviser about plans to end the Ukrainian conflict

The plans of US President-elect Donald Trump to end the conflict in Ukraine by the end of the year are unrealistic. This opinion was expressed by Alexei Chepa, the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs, on Thursday, December 19, responding to the relevant words of Trump's special envoy and advisor on Ukraine Keith Kellogg.
"Trump's future advisor Kellogg has already started active work, he plans to visit Kiev, European countries, he has already met with someone, there was information that he plans to visit Moscow to get more truthful information. His activity is very noticeable," the MP said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru.
Earlier, on December 18, Kellogg said that Trump will end the Ukrainian conflict in the near future, he has all the opportunities for this, according to the website kp.ru.
He also said that the assassination of the head of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense (RCDBZ) troops of the Russian Armed Forces (AF), Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov was not a reasonable step on the part of Kiev, reports 360.ru.
On the same day, it became known that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (term expired on May 20) does not want to rush the end of the Ukrainian conflict. He said that Trump knows about Kiev's unwillingness to solve the problem, RT reports.
On December 17, Francis Fukuyama, a well-known American political scientist, suggested that Trump would try to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, but at the expense of Kiev's interests. Thus, the Ukrainians will allegedly agree to cede part of their territory in exchange for NATO membership, writes Moscow 24.
On the same day, Trump said he would be able to answer the question about Kiev's possible territorial concessions after "the first meeting with the leaders of Russia and Ukraine," Regnum news agency reported. On December 17, he also said he was working hard to end the Ukrainian conflict and had already made "a little progress."
On December 13, Trump's special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg admitted the end of the conflict in Ukraine in the coming months, RIAMO writes. According to him, the US President-elect is capable of decisive action on conflict resolution.
Before that, on December 3, was published written in April "Kellogg's Plan" for the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, the author of which is the future special envoy of Trump. In his opinion, it is necessary to stop political isolation of the Russian Federation, putting pressure on Moscow and Kiev, as well as to start stimulating peaceful settlement more actively. Kellogg suggested the preservation of liberated territories by Russia, the easing of sanctions and the normalization of relations with the United States.
On November 29, the Foreign Intelligence Service pointed to NATO's desire to freeze the conflict in Ukraine in order to rebuild the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It was noted that the West might plan to use this to rebuild the Ukrainian army and prepare for a future offensive.
The special operation to defend Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
