Russians filed 220 thousand appeals to labor inspection in 2024

At the beginning of December 2024, the labor inspectorates received about 220 thousand appeals of citizens, the press service of Rostrud reported to "Izvestia" on December 19. This correlates with the indicators of the last year. At the same time, the number of such requests decreased almost twofold compared to the same period of 2020, the service added.
Most often Russians send to the inspection of appeals related to payment and labor protection, as well as the registration of relations with the employer, shared in Rostrud. At the same time, incoming appeals do not always contain a complaint. Many of them require an explanatory or advisory response.
At present, citizens can file an appeal by mail, on the website of the agency, at a personal appointment with an inspector or through the portal "Onlininspektsiya.rf". With the help of the online service, residents of the Russian Federation are increasingly leaving applications - in 2024 their number became 25% more than in 2023, and reached 51 thousand. Such dynamics can be associated with both the development of the portal itself and the growing popularity of electronic interaction with government agencies, said in Rostrud.
"The main reasons for appeals this year were non-payment of wages, delayed settlements at dismissal and illegal staff reductions. Many employees express dissatisfaction about the discrepancy between the actual payment and the minimum requirements and violations of rights in the termination of labor contracts, which is especially relevant in conditions of high inflation," explained Yaroslav Kabakov, director of strategy at the investment company Finam.
In 2024, according to the expert, there was also an increase in the number of appeals related to the protection of the rights of mobilized workers, disputes over wage indexation and lack of compensation for overtime. He added: there was an additional increase in the number of complaints about discrimination in hiring and unofficial employment.
For violations of labor laws fines of up to Br50 thousand for companies, as well as administrative penalties and in some cases criminal liability, said the expert. The most common mistakes of employers remain delays in wages, failure to comply with the rules of dismissal, unofficial registration of employees and failure to comply with the terms of the employment contract, summarized Kabakov.
Earlier, on October 29, it was reported that among employed Russians 37% of respondents positively perceive overtime if the employer pays extra for them. And only 11% of employees are willing to perform overtime tasks without compensation. This is evidenced by a survey conducted by the analytical center "Consol.Pro".
