Sales of used cars in Russia fell by 13% over the month

In November 2024, Russians purchased 524.5 thousand passenger cars with mileage. This is 13.4% less than a month earlier, but 14.5% more compared to November last year. This is stated in the study of the analytical agency "Avtostat", which was received by "Izvestia" on December 20.

In the ranking of sales among brands the leadership still belongs to Lada, in the last month of the fall was bought 135.9 thousand used cars of the domestic brand. Next come Toyota (52.3 thousand units), Kia and Hyundai (29.1 thousand and 27.8 thousand units, respectively), as well as Nissan (23.5 thousand units). The top ten was closed by Volkswagen, Chevrolet, Renault, Honda and Ford.

It is noted that in the top ten sales for the month decreased for all brands, with all brands, except for Lada, this figure exceeded 10%. In annual comparison, all brands, except Ford, were "in the plus". Lada had the best growth - by 22.2%.

The most popular car in November was a sedan Lada 2107, which is the title of the best-seller of the "secondary market" for the tenth month in a row. At the end of the fall, Russians bought 13.4 thousand VAZ "sevens". The top five also included Lada 2114 "Samara-2", Kia Rio, Hyundai Solaris. The top ten was completed by Lada 4×4 "Niva", Lada 2170 "Priora", Ford Focus, Toyota Corolla and Camry, as well as Lada 2110.

In total, in the first 11 months of 2024, Russians purchased 5.5 million passenger cars with mileage, which is 4.6% more than in January - November last year.

In October 2024, Russians purchased 605.3 thousand passenger cars with mileage. This is 14.3% more than a month earlier and 23.8% more than the result of October last year.

On December 17, experts "Avito Auto" told "Izvestia" that in the fall of 2024 among the cars of European brands with used cars on the Russian market in demand is leading Volkswagen: the German brand accounts for 4.66% of demand. The second place is occupied by Mercedes-Benz with a share of 4.21%, and BMW (3.62%) completes the top three.
