Sber has called AI a "human assistant"

In the development of artificial intelligence, Sberbank is largely guided by China's experience. Alexander Vedyakhin, First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Sberbank, told about it in an interview with Xinhua.
"Now Sber is actively developing generative AI. We are, of course, looking at how China is developing AI and are inspired in many ways by the models and examples it shows. We see how the Chinese authorities take a very reasonable approach to AI support and development, and we are largely guided by the experience of our Chinese colleagues," Vedyakhin explained.
According to Vedyakhin, the main goal of AI implementation is customer satisfaction. He noted that Sberbank Group has already implemented more than 2,000 AI models and more than 85% of the bank's processes are carried out with its help. In addition, 76 Russian regions are already implementing AI-based solutions proposed by the bank. "And we want AI to become an assistant for our client: both individuals and legal entities, and, of course, for the state," summarized the deputy chairman of the board of Sber.
According to Vedyakhin, AI today is just beginning to demonstrate its capabilities and in the next two to three years there will be joint teams in which real people will interact with AI assistants and AI assistants. Vedyakhin cited data according to which AI reduces the human workload by 20-30%. "Well, and, of course, AI should be even more empathic, feel a person even more to help him and work with him together," he added.
Speaking about promising areas of AI development, Vedyakhin named the introduction of recommendation systems and robotics. "Today we are investing in developments to keep our clients happy and to ensure that Sberbank maintains its technological leadership," he said.
