Russian President Vladimir Putin during the "Results of the Year" program December 19, expressed gratitude to volunteers who help residents of Russia's border regions, including Belgorod and Kursk regions.

"This is an extremely important thing - helping specific people. <...> Of course, when volunteers do it, for which I would like to express my gratitude to all volunteers, they do not just work, they risk themselves, there are losses, unfortunately, among volunteers," the head of state said.

In Putin's opinion, within the framework of their activities, volunteers reach specific people and sometimes have a better sense of what the state is doing well and what is not.

The President reminded that there is a program for the restoration of Kursk region, for which funds are allocated. The same thing is happening in Belgorod and Bryansk Oblasts. The head of state emphasized that in all these regions no one will be neglected.

At the same time, Putin supported the proposal to create a single window for civil initiatives to help local residents. He called such a statement of the issue very correct and promised to think over possible measures and discuss them with specialized agencies.

Earlier, on December 9, Putin extended payments for participants of combat operations in the combat zone to volunteers operating on the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions. According to the decree, they were entitled to disability payments in the amount of Br4 million.

Before that, on December 5, the head of the executive committee of the all-Russian movement "People's Front" Mikhail Kuznetsov told "Izvestia" that the whole country had united to help the residents of Kursk region.
